Add-ons & extra billing

The live paid add-ons (phone numbers, billed per number, and extra Social Stacks), and what is (and isn't) charged outside your plan and ABT allowance.

Most of what you do in AnyBot is covered two ways: your plan sets your seat, agent, and workspace limits, and your ABT allowance meters every kind of AI work. A few capabilities sit outside both of those, because they carry a real recurring cost to an outside provider. Those are add-ons. They bill on their own, separately from your plan and your pools. Today there are two paid add-ons: a phone number, and extra Social Stacks beyond the one every plan includes.

What counts as an add-on

An add-on is something you attach to a workspace or an agent that bills separately from your subscription and outside your ABT pools. It isn't drawn from a quota, and it isn't bundled into your plan tier. It's its own line, because AnyBot is paying a provider for it on your behalf every month.

That is a deliberately small list. Connecting a channel (WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, email, and the rest) doesn't add a charge; you bring the underlying account and AnyBot routes it. The things that carry their own recurring charge are a phone number and any extra Social Stack.

Phone numbers

A phone number is billed as a recurring per-number subscription, not a one-time fee. One number powers both SMS and voice for the agent it's assigned to, so a single subscription covers two channels.

  • Free numbers are acquired instantly, no payment step, no subscription.
  • Paid numbers open a Stripe checkout for a monthly subscription. The amount is resolved server-side from the telephony provider (Twilio) at checkout. We don't publish per-number prices here, and the client can't set its own. Once payment succeeds the number is provisioned automatically.

Because the provider bills AnyBot for the number every month, you're billed every month too. Cancel the subscription and the number is released back to the provider.

How the charge tracks the number's state

The subscription and the number stay in lock-step through Stripe webhooks:

Billing eventWhat happens to the number
Paid checkout completesProvisioned and set Active, routing SMS and calls
Monthly renewal succeedsStays Active
Monthly renewal failsFlagged Suspended (a billing state). Update your payment to clear it; if the subscription is ultimately canceled, the number is released
A later payment recoversAutomatically returns to Active
You cancel / releaseSet Released. The charge stops and the number is gone for good

For the full search → get → assign → release walkthrough, number states, and per-channel behaviour, see the dedicated guides:

  • Phone numbers: search, get (free or paid), assign, and release
  • SMS: texting and MMS on your number
  • Voice: the agent answers calls

Extra Social Stacks

A Social Stack groups your social accounts so you publish to them together. Every plan includes one Stack. If you need more, each extra Stack is a paid add-on, billed monthly or yearly, separately from your plan and your ABT pools.

What is not a separate add-on charge

It's worth being explicit about what you don't pay for on the side, so the picture stays honest:

  • AI work is metered in ABT against your plan. You never buy ABT directly and there are no top-up packs. Your plan sets the allowance and usage draws it down. See AnyBot Tokens (ABT).
  • Connecting a channel is free. Only a phone number (which powers SMS and voice) carries its own recurring charge; the other channels ride on accounts you already have.
  • Plan features aren't unbundled into paid add-ons. Differences between tiers (agents, seats, workspaces, knowledge, AI allowance, support) come with the plan, not as à-la-carte extras. The one Social Stack every plan includes is part of the plan too; only Stacks beyond it are extra. See Plans.
