Phone numbers

Search, buy, and assign a phone number. One number powers both SMS and voice.

One phone number is the foundation for two channels. SMS and Voice both run on a single number you get inside AnyBot. You don't bring your own Twilio account, and you don't set anything up twice. Search for a number, get it (free or paid), and assign it to an agent; that one action lights up texting and calling together.

Before you start

Getting and assigning numbers is an owner/admin action. You need permission to manage integrations in the space. Availability and pricing come from the underlying telephony provider (Twilio), and paid numbers are billed through Stripe, so both must be configured for your workspace.

The lifecycle

Search available → Get the number (free or paid) → Assign to an agent → (later) Release

Open the Phone Numbers area and search by country (required). Narrow it by type (local, mobile, or toll-free) and by area code or the digits the number should contain. AnyBot returns matching numbers with their capabilities.

2. Get the number

  • Free numbers are acquired instantly, no payment step.
  • Paid numbers open a Stripe checkout for a recurring monthly subscription. The amount is resolved from the provider, not set by you; once payment succeeds the number is provisioned automatically.

We don't publish per-number prices here. The exact amount is shown at checkout.

3. Assign to an agent

Assign the number to one agent. That single action installs the Phone & SMS integration, which powers both the SMS and voice channels for that agent, one addon, one number, two channels. A number can be assigned to one agent at a time; unassign it first if you want to move it.

4. Release

Releasing a number unassigns it, gives it back to the provider, and stops its monthly charge. This is permanent. The number is not held for you.

Number states

StateMeaning

SuspendedA monthly renewal failed; routing pauses until payment recovers, then it reactivates automatically.

Good to know

  • One number, both channels. The same number handles texting and calling. See SMS and Voice.
  • Voice is English-only today.
  • Logs stay with the number. Every SMS and every call is logged against the number, with delivery status and call transcripts.
