Settings & automation

Organize posts with categories and labels, place posts into weekly posting slots on the queue board, let Fill queue schedule your drafts, and keep the queue out of blackout windows.

Social Settings is where you set up the rules that make the rest of the pipeline run itself: content categories and labels to keep posts organized, recurring queue time-slots so a draft can drop into the next open publishing window without you picking a date, and blackout windows that keep that auto-scheduler off the days you want quiet. It supports the plan → create → publish → analyze → engage loop by taking the repetitive scheduling decisions off your plate. You'll get the most out of it once you've connected at least one account.

Before you start

  • You need the manage_social permission in the space (see roles & permissions).
  • Open Social → Settings. The left rail has five tabs: General, Labels, Categories, Queue slots, and Blackouts.

General

The General tab holds two settings:

  • Require approval, a space-wide switch; when on, posts must be reviewed before they can publish. The review flow itself lives in approvals & collaboration.
  • Brand voice, a short description of how your brand sounds, plus an "avoid" list, that AnyBot feeds to the AI drafting tools (captions, hashtags, threads, video scripts) so generated post copy stays on-brand.

Categories and labels

Two ways to organize, both editable here and usable across the planner:

  • Categories are your content pillars, think "Product", "Behind the scenes", "Promo". Each has a name, a color, an icon, and an optional description. You assign one category to a post in the composer, and you can filter the calendar by it.
  • Labels are freer tags with a name, color, and description, use them for a campaign, a status of your own, or anything you want to slice by. A post can carry several.

Both are managed with the same create / edit / delete panel, and both feed the filter chips on the planner so you can pull up exactly the slice you're after.

Queue time-slots

Queue slots are recurring weekly publishing windows, the Buffer-style pattern where you define your slots once and then just drop content into them.

  1. Add a slot with a day of week, time, and timezone. Bind it to a specific connected account or leave it open to any.
  2. Give it an optional label (e.g. "Morning post") and toggle it enabled.
  3. Slots show on a weekly grid and a table so you can see your whole cadence at a glance.

Once slots exist, three places put them to work:

  • The queue board, see below.
  • In the composer, a next slot chip appears next to the scheduler, one tap schedules the post to the next open window.
  • Fill queue takes your oldest unscheduled drafts and pairs them, one each, with the next open slots (up to 30 at a time). It shows its plan before placing anything, reports each post's outcome, and explains why any drafts were left out.

The queue board

The queue schedule board is a weekly board of your posting times, where you place posts into slots.

  • A slot can be limited to one post type, so only that kind of post lands in it.
  • Copy a slot instead of setting it up again.
  • A slot follows its creator's time zone, and every time on the board is shown in your own time zone.
  • The drafts list beside the board shows drafts with or without a saved time, only those ready to schedule, with filters and a count of drafts that still need a platform or account.
  • Posts appear as calendar-style chips with thumbnails, and the board refreshes on its own.
  • An empty week offers to add posting times.

You can also ask BotFather to set up posting times and fill your queue for you.

"Open" means free: AnyBot looks ahead about two weeks, skips any slot that already has a post within roughly half an hour on the same account, and skips accounts whose queue is paused.

Blackout windows

A blackout is a date-and-time range, a holiday, a launch freeze, a quiet weekend, with an optional label. The auto-scheduler routes around blackouts: the next-slot chip and Fill queue will never drop a post inside one.

FAQ

Do queue slots publish on their own? They define when the next opening is; a post still has to be dropped into a slot (via the next-slot chip or Fill queue). Slots don't post empty.

Can two slots collide? No, a slot for the same account, day, time, and timezone is rejected as a duplicate.

Why did Fill queue schedule fewer posts than I have drafts? It only fills as many drafts as there are open slots in the next two weeks. Add more slots (or widen your blackouts) and run it again.

Why is a slot's account skipped? That account's queue is paused, or it isn't connected, see connecting accounts.
