In short
Connect your Slack app with a bot token and signing secret, then turn on Event Subscriptions. Your AI agent replies to direct messages and channel @mentions in-thread. It does not read or reply to every message. This is Slack as a reply channel; the separate Slack integration lets an agent read Slack for you.
